The little blonde beauty pokes me in my side, bringing me out of my daydream.

“You want to come play with me?”

Sitting up, I reach over and bring her close to my face. I tickle her, and she squeals and giggles. It’s the best fucking sound my ears have ever heard.

“Sure, Ash. Just let me go grab a shirt, and I will come play outside with you and your mom.”

“Yay!!” She squeals jumping up and down next to me. “Huwwy up, Corbee, let go!!”

I grab a shirt off my bed and throw it on over my head. I grab the bubbles I bought just the other day, but the weather hasn’t been nice enough for it until today. I walk outside and watch the girls lying in the grass just outside the sliding glass door. I open the bubbles as I walk, spilling some on the way, trying to be quiet, so I can blow bubbles over them as they lie there looking up into the sky.

“That one looks like a kitty cat, Mommy,”

Ashlynn says while pointing at the clouds in the sky.

“It sure does, baby,” Kennedy says.

I take the little wand, pull it out and blow. Bubbles fly everywhere over them. Ashlynn starts giggling with excitement. Kennedy looks over her head in my direction and smiles.

“Good touch there, playboy!” Kennedy says.

I laugh. “Thanks, I thought she’d like bubbles.”

“You thought right,” Kennedy says.

I grew up with (what I now believe to be) a perverse sense of religion and sex. My father has a Master’s of Divinity. I am a preacher’s daughter. I went to church every Sunday and Awana’s every Wednesday. I now consider myself agnostic. I was told that sex is bad, wrong and only to be had for making babies.

I recall sitting in Sunday School passing around an open chocolate bar, being told that the chocolate bar was a woman and as more hands touched it, the chocolate melted and distorted. The leader then held up a new chocolate bar and asked the group which one they would want to eat – the touched one, or the untouched one. The message was clear, don’t fuck. You’ll be dirty. No one will want you.

This is how I grew up. Our backgrounds make us who we are, coloring our perspectives. This is mine & this is why I love this book so damn much.

Longer Review:

Oh, thy Kingdom came alright. Priest is one of the best books I’ve read this year. Hands down. No question. Sierra leads us right into the mouth of temptation, and delivers a phenomenal book. It mixes sin and guilt with forgiveness and redemption in such a perfect way that made me want to kneel and pray to be fucked into absolution.

Priest may be conceived as taboo but it’s also not. It’s actually complex and deep in all the right ways. *winks*

Father Tyler Bell hasn’t always been a saint. Before he became a priest, he was a normal person who went to college, who fucked women, who sinned. When tragedy struck, he felt the calling to change his life, give over his wordly desires and attempt to make a difference on behalf of a greater power. His back story is so important – frankly, it’s everything. It links together why he falters in his vows and why he won’t let go of his faith.

Poppy isn’t purposefully tempting. She comes to confess her sins, not really knowing what she’s doing – because she’s not Catholic. She knows that her attraction to Tyler is wrong, but how can you stop love?

Some may find the intense fucking in a church as offensive – I found it hot as hell. It’s also more than just fucking. Yes, Sierra takes sacred items and uses them for a sexual act. Yet, I don’t find these scenes blasphemous at all. In fact, it just seemed appropriate since sex between Poppy and Tyler was a sacred act. The message is clear that as long as it’s consensual, sex isn’t dirty – it’s something that should be celebrated – it’s something that God approves of – it’s BLESSED. #SeeWhatSheDidThere?! Bless you, Sierra.

Priest is a carnal display of worldly desires intertwining with enlightened spirituality. I’m in awe of this book. The exceptional writing floated over me and the story left me settled with a sense of peace that I hadn’t expected. Priest is sinfully hot, but it’s also deeply spiritual. If this is blasphemy then sign me up.

Longer Review:

This super fast read got me all worked up and left me hanging….cliff hanging that is. Landon Blake is mysterious, sexy & evidently wealthy. I quickly fell into instalust & Megan did too. I really can’t fault her for losing the ability to speak after Landon’s whispered dirty words. uh huh. We have a dirty talker on our hands – hell yes!

Megan’s working for a HUGE dick. Like a James Deen sized dick without any of the benefits that comes along with that particular appendage. Instead she gets screamed & barked at, forced to capitulate to his every demands…and she does it because, well, she gets paid well. Yet everything Megan thought she knew is about to change when she finds the man she met at the bar standing over her boss’ dead body. I’m dying to know if she’s along for the ride or if she’s going to stand up and scream. GAH!

This novella is a great showing by Ms. Swift. It’s a little bit of a clit tease, leaving me high and dry at the end of each installment just as the plot takes a wild turn, but thankfully there’s more to come *winks*

Julia knows exactly how to keep you glued to the pages. I was flying through this book, searching for a murderer, clasping my hands in fear as Megan is questioned and gasping with excitement when Landon reappears. You don’t quite know what’s going on – but you’re not supposed to.

AND THEN, ohmyGOD. I was so spoiled as I got the first three all at once and now my leg is bouncing and I’m sitting at the edge of my couch.

Julia gives us a bit more information in book 3 – and lets us re-live the heat that sparks off of Megan and Landon. Their kisses are passionate and their touches are brutally not even close to enough. They need to find the killer – and soon.

I’m a little desperate for book 4. I felt that Julia really hit her stride in book 3 and this lightning quick read was over way too soon. This is a mysterious, light, fun and sexy story that’s sure to keep you on your toes. loved! This series packs a great punch and makes you desperate for more. well done, Julia!

Longer Review:

A torrid affair consisting of one night with a billionaire? OH COME ON. You know you’re in too. The tie-me-up-slap-my-ass-dominant-sex is pretty damn hot and all of that Italian had me dying for a taste of Luciano’s cream sauce…yup, I went there.

Luciano is an alpha billionaire Italian soccer player who has been put on a short leash by his PR folks. He may have been getting into a little bit of trouble in his time off recovering from an injury and his manwhoring and partying ways weren’t looked upon kindly by his sponsors. Whoops. So, since he’s on lockdown, he decides to take a different approach and find an escort through a super secret agency.

Elise is just trying to find a way to pay off her sister’s medical bills. It’s hard to turn down an offer for a huge sum for only one night – so she doesn’t. But she doesn’t expect that she’s going to like it. She doesn’t plan to find herself in the confines of that hotel room.

This delicious little morsel of a book has me licking my lips and begging for more. Luciano is just enough of an asshole+sweetheart to make me love him and Elise is clearly a good and kindhearted person who is suddenly struck with the freedom to be herself. The Dom/sub vibe in this serial was well played and the sex scenes were on fire. Yes, sir. This novella will definitely feed your fantasies.

Some parts of the story felt a little but rushed, but on the whole I’m far from complaining. This is a hell of a fun and sexy read! Sign me up for part 2!

Review:

Oh Emma Emma Emma. I went back and forth between wanting to kick her in the shins and wanting to give her a hug. Emma and Pete were married young and almoat immediately joined the swinger lifestyle; however Emma’s not quite sure it’s working for her anymore. The ultimate people pleaser, Emma decides that shes going to try to refocus on herself and her pleasure. Unfortunately, she tortures her loving and insanely hot husband in the process.

As they head off to a secluded resort where almost anything goes, Emma tries her hand at playing at a few new games, that could throw her marriage into the proverbial fire. Pete’s completely in love with his wife, and fails to see the problems in their relationship – whether it’s only them in the bedroom or when they’re with others. As it isn’t really his issue, I couldn’t help feeling a bit bad for the guy.

While I initially was expecting tons of swapping and sharing (which sometimes makes me grit my teeth) I was surprised and pleased to discover that I was always comfortable with how far they took their sexual acts with others.

Ad Pete and Emma search for a way to rekindle their passion, I enjoyed their easy banter back and forth. Their words and touches were playful, knowledgeable and always loving. There are also plenty of sex scenes that will have you heating up and enough romance to soothe you after you come back down from your high.

Overall, an easy read and a passionate story about reconnection with tinges of jealousy and lots of angst. 3 stars.

A knock at the door made me jump.

With a huff, I got out of bed and stood on my tiptoes to look out the peephole. Why were those things always so high on the door anyway? I was surprised to find no one standing on the other side. Maybe I’d imagined it.

Another knock.

I flicked on the lights. The sound wasn’t coming from the entrance door. It was coming from an interior door I hadn’t even noticed before.

Chance’s door.

I unfastened the top lock and cracked it open just enough so I could see what he wanted. And there he stood.

Shirtless.

Wearing only dark gray boxer briefs that hugged him like a second skin.

It took a minute to understand what he was doing there, even though he was holding up a toothbrush in question.

“I thought we had established I wasn’t a serial killer already.”

I opened the door wider.

He smiled.

Oh lord. Stop that. Right now.

“I must have left my toothpaste in my saddlebag in the car.”

I swallowed hard. “Uh huh.”

He cocked his head to the side, and his brows dipped in. “Can I borrow yours?”

“Oh. Yeah, sure.”

He walked past me and let himself into my bathroom. I waited at the door.

“You got an awful lot of girly crap in here for one night,” he said with a jumbled mouth full of toothpaste from the bathroom. “Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia.”

He was reading my Estee Lauder perfume bottle.

I heard him rinse and spit. Then there was a gargling sound. He used my mouthwash, too. Sure, help yourself.

He walked out and flicked off the bathroom light. “Is tuberose a rose?”

I shook my head, still confused by the whole situation going on.

“That’s why,” he murmured.

“Why what?”

“I couldn’t figure out what you smelled like all day. Not sure I ever smelled a Tuberose before.” He shrugged and walked back into his room but not before turning back. “Even those little black lacy underwear smell like tuberose.”

My eyes bulged. I’d taken off my bra and panties and left them on the bathroom counter.

“You…you—”

“Relax. I’m teasing. Do I look like an underwear sniffer to you?”

Yes.

No.

Maybe?

“Night, Aubrey.” He graced me with a dimple and disappeared.

AH-BREE. Damn him.

I locked the door and checked it twice, unclear if it was for my safety or his. His voice saying my name was on audio replay inside my head, getting softer and softer like a soothing lullaby with each breath as I drifted off to dreamland.

Until the knock came again.
