Longer Review:

ALL. THE. FEELS.

my
Head [or heart].

Colleen Hoover is amazing. I set aside an entire day for her books – not because it will take me that long to read it – but because I know I will suffer an immense book hangover afterwards that will render me useless for anything else. Ugly Love doesn’t disappoint. To be honest, I read it days ago and I’m STILL REELING. It had no problem making My Top 10 Favorite Reads of 2014 list.

Are you prepared to Ugly Cry? You know the kind where your tears are uncontrollable, your face is contorted and there’s so much liquid streaming down you’re not really sure where it’s all coming from? Yeah, THAT KIND. This book will do it to you.

Blue-water

Miles Archer is an airline pilot who works, sleeps, eats, works, and has the occasional Thursday guy’s night with Corbin, his good friend and neighbor across the hall. When Tate moves in with her brother, Corbin-from-across-the-hall, she finds a drunk Miles sleeping in front of the door. This first simple interaction leads to SO. MUCH. MORE. The attraction between them is undeniable, but Miles can’t/won’t offer anything more than just sex. He has two rules: 1. Don’t ask about his past; and 2. Don’t expect a future.

Tate readily accepts this arrangement because she just can’t seem to say anything other than yes. I mean, come on, sex with hot Miles?! YES PLEASE. But as time progresses she can’t stop falling – and Miles can’t open himself up to the possibility of love. The hurt. The pain. The CONNECTION between these two characters is palpable. Colleen Hoover inserts some seriously steamy scenes into this novel that do not go unappreciated. I loved every single second of this book. I love Tate because she’s not a push over even when she’s so helplessly falling in love. She tries to protect her heart, but can’t. I mean, can ANYONE when faced with love? I love Miles because of the journey he takes to melt that wall of ice that guards his heart. It’s SO GOOD.

I LOVED IT! This book deserves twenty million stars, not just the five I could give it on GoodReads.
