This is fantastic. I fucking LOVE when a new author sneaks up on me and rocks it out. I’m throwing high fives and fist pumping I’m so happy. This book starts out with a bang…okay, it’s more like a good hard fuck…before transporting five years in the past wherein your heart cracks, breaks and bleeds out.

Essie has ice around her heart and revenge embedded in her mind. It’s the only way that she’s been able to function since her brother – her best friend – her savior – was tragically torn from her. She’s spent the last five years plotting, planning and conniving – ready to execute her plan when the time is right. And she thinks she just found an opening. However, when she finally meets Aidan, the brother of the man who stole her world, her preconceived notions are shaken…and her body is stirred. Her ability to continue with the plan becomes questionable, especially when Aidan’s crooked smile, honest answers, and deft fingers infiltrate her to the core. *winks* Whose heart is going to end up breaking?

Aidan has been thrust into a world full of suits, bleak skies, and dark winters. It’s a far cry from when his world was defined by the surfing and pussy. However, as much as he initially hated this life that has been forced upon him, it’s started to grow on him – and make him grow. He’s a deeper character than you initially expect, and I loved that. When Ess approaches him, he knows that she’s up to something. He knows who she is. He could never forget since she’s been staring in all of his dreams. Can he figure out her game and beat her at it?

Cole not only had me completely empathetic to the characters, he also had me laughing out loud. Aiden is the perfect alpha man, loving all women as long as they love sex. I was thrilled with his honesty and fell for his charm. He tends to like his women a little bit on the submissive side, but he’s willing to make an exception for Ess – especially since he gets hard just thinking about her. I quickly fell in love with his mental commentary and I adored the sexual tension between Ess and Aiden.

Heartbreaker is crass, blunt, sexy, complex and hot as fuck. What’s not to love? Of course there’s a cliffhanger. Of course I’m now dying. OF COURSE I’ll be back for more. So well done! 5 stars!

This book is read-through-your-fingers suspenseful. I shaking a little bit with anxiety as the danger and paranoia increased and the pages turned. I wanted to look away but then I definitely didn’t want to miss out on the return of Xavier’s cock. Never fear, his delicious man bits star in this book…as do his fingers and his mouth….mmmm.

warning: this installment may induce a strong desire to shake Nikki while screaming “NO!!! DON’T DO IT!!!!”

While Nikki continues to struggle learning who to trust, Xavier continues to be the Perfect Man. Hailey also keeps her role as the Voice of Reason and I wanted to hug her. But do you think Nikki listens to her? uh huh. you’re right. Regardless, while Nikki runs around Miami attempting to extricate herself from this massive mess she’s dug, she somehow only manages to furrow in deeper.

Oh, but so does Xavier. YES. HELL FUCKING YES. *winks*

note: I have issues with anal without real lube so while I was pleased for the super hot ass action, I wanted to pass Xavier a bottle of lube through the book. BUT I DIGRESS.

The Chalet is a quick and hot read full of submission and love! Abby and Nathaniel are finally getting married. FINALLY. Nathaniel’s ready to make this official, even though he knows that she’s always been his. When Abby makes a no sex and no collar for a month before their wedding declaration, Nathaniel’s not pleased…but he sure as hell makes those last few days before the cutoff count. YES, PLEASE.

The wedding was enough to scratch an itch for Abby and Nathaniel…but the honeymoon turned that itch into a full blown need. All bets are off when they arrive at the Swiss Chalet and it is unbelievably hot. I’m surprised they didn’t steam up my kindle screen.

Dom is a complete and utter asshole for all the reasons you expect him to be after the conclusion of book 2. There’s some slight miscommunication at the beginning of this book…. mostly because Dom has shut down ALL communication. When Juliet gets the chance to slide back into Dom’s world she takes it. She is once again not a chick to be messed with and while her body betrays her anytime she’s near Dom, she shows us that she can Give Zero Fucks and never falls into a haze of despair. Thank fuck. LOVE HER!

The transitions are clean and the sex is outstandingly dirty: so filthy it’ll take a team of Rexford maids to clean it up. ALL THE YES.

Dom lives up to his name and yet also gives us a little more insight into his vulnerable side. I love an internally scared billionaire. No really, I do. As things heat up in the boardroom and uhhhhh other places, Juliet and Dom try to get back to that place they were in Paris. And I’m not just talking about Juliet’s ass…even though Dom checks that again too. *fans self*

This is a fast paced story that filled me to the hilt. The easy writing style is full of wit and sass and had me devouring this installment like a starved puppy. 5 stars!

Longer Review:

The second installment of this fiery hot series is an angsty little bugger. While Nikki and Xavier continue to light Miami on fire with every touch, Nikki carries around bags of emotional ice that she has at the ready, prepared to kill every mood. Nikki isn’t sure what to believe about Xavier…but she also doesn’t ask him. *smh*

Nikki also carries around a ‘jump to conclusions’ mat everywhere she goes. With the least bit of evidence she has already decided that Xavier is a likely a Drug King and killed her brother. EXCUSEY WHAT?! I could have killed her. Hailey gets big high fives from me for being the voice of reason, forcing Nikki to word vomit her weak rationale and pointing out that maybe, just maybe things are what they seem and not what Nikki is making up. In her head. All the points to Hailey!

Xavier is once again a delicious specimen of a man who has (so far) done nothing to make me question his fuckability or desirability as my current book boyfriend. He finger fucks like it’s his job (OH. MAYBE THAT’S WHAT HE DOES FOR A LIVING!) and can incite a stampede of women in heels and short dresses everywhere he goes. He also sends the most fantastic gifts. Nikki, darling, I refuse to question his career aspirations and am more than happy to take him off your hands…

There’s so much sexual tension in this book in addition to the angst that I’m really happy that my kindle doesn’t also double as an etch-a-sketch. I hope you’re in the mood for hard, rough and filthy fucking, because this installment grants you access to one of the dirtiest and hottest sex scenes I’ve read in a long time. THANK YOU, ROXY!

Overall, Part 2 of The Scene gets you all riled up and leaves you (of course) WANTING MORE. book3!book3!

THIS IS YOUR PNR SERIAL ADDICTION. I’m totally an Ivy junkie.

You might be thinking ‘Heather, really?! You’re telling me to start reading a ten-part serial novella paranormal series?!’

Answer: Yes, I fucking am. & it’s going to be more than ten parts, sooooo, just deal with it.

If you haven’t yet started this series, go grab some snacks, a drink [or twelve], and just schedule yourself a night/day to binge-read your face off. Ivy does not disappoint. She gives you romance, instalove that doesn’t feel like instalove, hot sex, a shit ton of suspense and a world that coexists with our own. This is a series that will keep you guessing and will have you clutching your chest and panting for breath. Ivy makes living in a world of angels and demons seem normal and I’m always amazed at how quickly and immediately I get sucked back into this story.

Speaking of the story, we catch back up with Riley and Paige as they are caught in the fight of their lives. Their love has solidified but we don’t know if it will be enough to keep Eva from possessing Paige’s body. GOOD GOD THE SUSPENSE! Riley is determined not to let the possession take place, but when he enters Paige’s mind determined not to fail, truths are exposed that have Paige making rash decisions that could affect everyone involved for eternity.

Paige and Riley are once again backed into a seemingly insurmountable corner from which I don’t see an escape – but I know Ivy has something at the ready to allow them to duck and run. I’m crossing my fingers for the happy ending that these two so desperately deserve. The cliffhanger here has me anxious and on edge, as per usual…and I’m waiting patiently for lucky number 11 – eeeek! GET INTO THIS, BITCHES. 5 stars!

We pick back up with Juliet as she’s about to decide whether she’s going all in or not with Dom. This book holds you on the edge, quivering with need, until finally letting you succumb to an incredibly satisfying release. The second in this series, Rae Lynn builds the relationship between Rachel and Dylan with words and action. Scorchingly hot, just get the vibrator ready while you read this one. *Throws head in freezer*

Rachel and Dylan are back and are hotter than ever. Rachel’s up in Boston and is working her magic in the Orchestra. There’s a little something off between her and her Maestro, but what it is, you don’t know. However, he’s mostly a jerk and he works them all extremely hard. Rachel’s been trying to forget about Dylan but her body won’t let her. She fantasizes not only about the way that he made her feel, but about who she became when she was with him.

When the two of them find each other once again, it’s hot, dark and oh-so-fucking sexy. I was quickly pulled into a maelstrom of emotions – sexual energy pulsates and feelings start to bloom. There are some seriously dirty scenes in this book – Ms. Blaise is filthy and I LOVE IT. Dylan St. John can orchestrate my body any time he’d like.

In case you couldn’t tell from the above, there’s a ridiculous cliffhanger that will leave your mouth hanging. I was still reminding myself this morning that they are fictional characters and that I need to get over it. I’m so not over it yet.

This novella packs an orgasm (well, more than one, thank fuck)…my kindle is a little singed right now after that fiery show – sweet hell, Lola. Intense, brooding billionaire meets sassy, determined intern: prepare for total domination. oh yes. yes, PLEASE. The Hotel services you in every way imaginable *waggles eyebrows*

Excessive sexual innuendo aside (I know, bear with me here for a second), there’s actually a really good plot here. Juliet is forced to fill in for her bff as Lady Candy for The Target. While Juliet has zero idea why exactly she’s supposed to be bait, she knows that she’s supposed to laugh, flirt, and hopefully create an opportunity for the photographer to grab a shot of a somewhat compromising position. Juliet’s less than enthused about the assignment until she meets The Target and all of her very solid common sense flies out the window.

This story is deliciously filthy and instantly addicting. Lola writes smart characters who know better but who just can’t seem to help themselves. Dom is sexy, mysterious and occasionally vulnerable – just the way I like my billionaires. I adored Juliet’s focus on her job, her penchant for honesty (ok, most of the time) and her ability to form intelligent sentences. I also loved her recognition that there may be something a little bit more to her “relationship” with Dom than she thinks. Or is there? I NEED TO KNOW.

Lola gives us just enough insight into both characters to make me fall for them, a corporate espionage subplot to raise my eyebrows, and that damn investigation to flip my stomach. My mouth was left hanging open at that cliffhanger…I only wish Dom was there to fill it. This serial is serious clit-bait: you won’t be able to stop yourself…this first edition is definitely not enough – book2book2book!!!!
