OFH Amazon (1)About ONLY FOR HER

The second installment in the Only series. Must read book one first!!

First loves never die but Grayson Ford comes close. Bleeding out in a war zone, he barters with God. Bring him back alive, and he’ll make it right with his girl.

All I want is Emma. I need her, and I fight for her memory. A story. A smile. Anything. But it’s all blank.

Emma is not his girl anymore. Time has skipped by and life’s been hard. She strips to pay the bills, waitresses to fill the hours between classes and her third job. All while working to be the best mama she can be to the little girl who will never know her daddy. Even though Grayson abandoned her, she mourned his death. Until he calls, and everything she knew was wrong.

It’s him. The him that ruined my life. That made my life. That confused my mind to the point that I can’t figure out if I’ve been destroyed or set free. The him that… is… dead.

He’s back with one objective–Emma Kingsley–and she never sees it coming.

Review: Where Sea Meets Sky by Karina Halle

Author: Karina Halle

Book: Where Sea Meets Sky – coming soon on March 31, 2015!!

tl;dr recommendation: This sharp, intelligent coming of age love story barreled its way into my soul.

Book Summary:

Joshua Miles has spent his early twenties spinning his wheels. Working dead-end jobs and living at home has left him exhausted and uninspired, with little energy to pursue his passion for graphic art. Until he meets Gemma Henare, a vivacious out-of-towner from New Zealand. What begins as a one-night stand soon becomes a turning point for Josh. He can’t get Gemma out of his head, even after she has left for home, and finds himself throwing caution to the wind for the first time in his life.

It’s not long before Josh is headed to New Zealand with only a backpack, some cash, and Gemma’s name to go on. But when he finally tracks her down, he finds his adventure is only just beginning. Equally infatuated, Gemma leads him on a whirlwind tour across the beautiful country, opening Josh up to life, lust, love, and all the messy heartache in between. Because, when love drags you somewhere, it might never let go even when you know you have to say goodbye.

Longer Review:

I now have a serious case of wanderlust. THANKS KARINA. If I wasn’t already pining for a change in career (I’m entirely serious. It’s happening as soon as I can make it happen) this book would have been enough to have me question every single decision I’ve made in my life. I mean, shit, it’s still making me do that and I’ve already walked down that path very recently. There’s something so refreshing about a book that tells you, no bullshit, HEY! FOLLOW YOUR PASSION! don’t be ashamed of it, let it flow through you, and let it devour you in a way that will fulfill you. It’s so good.

Gemma is a sweetheart/ part-time-bitch who doesn’t know what the fuck she’s doing with her life. She’s a nice girl, really, but she has an ache that she can’t fill and she’s searching for something that will make her whole. When the one night stand with Josh turns into a road-trip through the New Zealand countryside, Gemma and Josh find themselves both finding something that they weren’t originally looking for. Things start to get messy…Gemma can’t quite let things progress further…and they both find out what happens when everything falls apart….

I honestly wasn’t so sure about this story when I started. I hate love triangles and when Nick the Dick appeared I started to internally cringe. BUT. I continued on, and I’m really glad I did. This isn’t a typical love triangle story – there’s no cheating (thank mother of fuck) – and there isn’t any crazy over the top jealousy (well, at least not from Josh). So, all in all, I survived that portion of the story in one piece. PHEW. Also, Amber is perhaps one of the best sub-characters I’ve every read. She said ‘fuck’ in some of her first few sentences in the book and I was like ‘welp, we’re friends now.’

The traveling, beauty and funny predicaments had me dying to find my own Mr. Orange and take a road trip through the mountains. This story makes me want to max out my credit cards, explore nature and find that carefree place inside of me. Can it be spring now? Because I have a serious sudden urge to go camping.

I also wouldn’t mind taking Josh with me. Especially if he plans to fuck me against a tree – because THAT WAS HOT. I absolutely loved his dirty talking and cock-sure attitude. It suited him quite well…as did those tattoos. I’m a sucker for tattoos, so that was part of his allure, but there was more to it than that. He’s genuinely a good guy and I wanted him to knock down Gemma’s walls with every page.

I loved the themes running through this story – and even though I somewhat predicted the ending, I loved that too. Heartwarming & uplifting, this is a love story that will break your heart and mend it back together. LOVE.

Review: Hard and Fast by Ana Gabriel

Author: Ana Gabriel

Book: Hard and Fast (Rules to Break #1)

Other Books in Series:

When Cole Met Rose (Rules to Break #.5)
Short and Sweet
(Rules to Break #1.5)

tl;dr recommendation: This novella lives up to its title. It’s fun, sweet, and incredibly steamy!

Book Summary:

Rose Weatherston was top of her acting class in small-town Illinois, but in Hollywood, the only roles she’s being offered are spots on the casting couch.

Faced with the possibility of having to go back home with her tail between her legs, Rose takes a job as a personal assistant to bridge the gap until she can finally land a legitimate acting role.

The advertisement calls for someone discreet, available 24/7, and willing to live-in.

It sounds terrible, and more than a little ominous, but as Rose’s best friend points out, beggars can’t be choosers.

Turns out that she’ll be working for Cole Dean, the international movie star whose face is on the cover of every tabloid. Cole Dean, the lady killer with the mysterious past, electric green eyes and devil’s smile. Cole Dean, who turns out to be wickedly charming and sexy as hell.

Rose tries to deny the instant, intense, and very unwanted attraction. After all, she didn’t say no to the casting couch this many times just to end up sleeping with her boss. But when their mutual desire becomes too much to bear, Rose sets up some ground rules between them.

She never wants to see Cole naked. Ever again. So he can stop working out shirtless and stripping when he knows she’s watching.

She won’t be a personal lackey in his depraved sex life. Thank you very much.

And absolutely, under no circumstances, will they have sex.

But Cole Dean’s charm proves difficult to resist, and before long, Rose finds herself wanting to break every single one of her own rules.

Longer Review:

This book definitely lives up to its title. This is a hard and fast (and super hot) love story that I really enjoyed. There are no deep thoughts or hard topics to digest and I was totally ok with that. Sometimes you need a quick fuck that turns into more, right? RIGHT.

Rose is trying desperately to be an actress but hasn’t been able to land anything. She’s three months behind on her rent and she refuses to suck a director’s dick in order to get a part. Her best friend recommends that she become a Personal Assistant in order to make some money and get back on her feet. She applies for the only one out there and ends up becoming the PA for Cole Dean, a very very private actor.

Rose and Cole are attracted to one another and immediately fall into a sexual dance. Are they fuck buddies? Are they more? Is she still his employee? Did she really just do the very thing that she claimed she never would?

This is somewhat predictable, but God, it was really fun to read. I loved when Rose stood her ground and turned the tables on Cole. The scenes sizzle when they’re together and I swear, my breathing started getting short and hitched in time with Rose. Sweet baby jesus, Cole is one sexy mother fucker.

So yes, hard. fast. delicious. If you’re looking for a book to satisfy your smut craving then you’ve found it. This is a quick and hot read that will leave you smiling. I know I was.

“…a fun and sexy read. It has a touch of suspense to it as well to keep the pace of the story going along.”

It’s a Reading Thing

“The men of Foster’s Ultimate series may be powerful fighters, but they are all heart, and none more so than the hero of this installment. His unwavering support for his feisty, frightened heroine redeems them both in time, but it is their searing chemistry that will hold readers’ attention.”

RT Book Reviews

“Foster…manages to keep characters evolving throughout the course of a novel, becoming true ‘heroes’ by the time ‘The End’ rolls around.”

Ripe for Reader

Review:

Holy alpha alert!! Ladies, get ready to drop your panties for this brooding, dominant, bossy, sexy and incredibly sweet alpha. Denver is an MMA fighter whose life revolves around those at the rec center where he trains. Those other fighters are his family and he’ll do anything to protect them. A few ladies have entered into that family as well, Cherry included, which is why Denver has been reticent about starting anything with her. He knows he wouldn’t be satisfied with one taste of her, and worries what would happen if that’s all Cherry wanted.Cherry’s been pining away for Denver since the second she saw him. However he’s only been giving her just-friends vibes, which basically crushes her. Finally, Cherry’s had enough and gives him one last chance to take her home (well, to her hotel room). Denver can’t fight it anymore and the two of them crash into a hot and sexy night together….until mid-way through the night Cherry gets the flu. WORST LUCK EVER. However, Denver stays, cares for her and something more begins to develop between them…it’s pretty freaking adorable.

All is well until some people from Cherry’s past re-enter the picture. Dangerous people who want to hurt Cherry…physically and emotionally. Denver’s protective instincts are triggered and his bossiness starts to come out more often than not. This provides for some seriously sexy banter, and some even hotter make-up sex.

If you’re looking for fighting, machismo, searingly hot sex scenes (OHMYGOD THEY’RE GOOD), and some drama, you’ve found the right book. Lori tantalizes you, excites you and leaves you gasping for more with each page. I’m a sucker for a fighter book, and this one was no different. I love watching a strong man fall to his knees for a woman. Suspenseful, romantic & fun, Lori knocked me out with this one! Loved it!

Review: Say My Name by J. Kenner

Author: J. Kenner

Book: Say My Name (Stark International #1)

Other Books in Series:

On My Knees (Stark International #2) – releasing on June 23, 2015
Under My Skin (Stark International #3) – releasing on September 1, 2015

tl;dr recommendation:  Jackson Steele might have been my undoing. You must read this series.

Book Summary:

I never let anyone get too close—but he’s the only man who’s ever made me feel alive.

Meeting Jackson Steele was a shock to my senses. Confident and commanding, he could take charge of any room . . . or any woman. And Jackson wanted me. The mere sight of him took my breath away, and his touch made me break all my rules.

Our bond was immediate, our passion untamed. I wanted to surrender completely to his kiss, but I couldn’t risk his knowing the truth about my past. Yet Jackson carried secrets too, and in our desire we found our escape, pushing our boundaries as far as they could go.

Learning to trust is never easy. In my mind, I knew I should run. But in my heart, I never felt a fire this strong—and it could either save me or scorch me forever.

Longer Review:

J kenner never fails to provide a gripping and passionate story. Say My Name takes you to the edge and then pushes you over. Not that I was expecting anything less, but Jackson Steele is the perfect addition to the Stark series. J. Kenner hasn’t disappointed me in a book yet, and she certainly hasn’t started now. I love the way she writes and how she makes you wonder about the characters by revealing bits and pieces as the story goes on so that soon you’re flipping the pages furiously to find out MORE.

Say My Name contains hot touches, icy stares, and explosive orgasms. YES PLEASE.

Jackson Steele is a strong and passionate man. He’s an architect by trade and he’s damn good at what he does. So good in fact that a film producer made a documentary about him. Sylvia is also a strong woman, but her outward strength is partially a mask to cover the broken little girl who occasionally makes an appearance. Jackson meets Syliva in Atlanta five years ago – they had an immediate connection and both knew it. However, Sylvia can’t deal as being with him breaks her in a way that she isn’t sure she can ever handle.

Fast forward to today. Sylvia is Damien Stark’s assistant (and yes, you get some Damien and Nikki in here and I couldn’t have been happier to see them!) and they need Jackson for a new project that Damien has agreed to let Sylvia spearhead. This could be a huge turning point for her career so she decides to face her past and face Jackson once again.

OBVIOUSLY this is where it all starts to unravel. The heat rises, the clothes fall off, the tempers flare, and the secrets begin to mount.

“My fingers itch to take you right now. To strip you bare and just look at you, naked and hot and wet for me.”

OH HI JACKSON. PANTIES = DROPPED.

Can Syliva trust Jackson with her secrets? Can they find a middle ground so that he doesn’t break her once again? Will Sylvia allow herself to feel?

I am in LOVE with Jackson. He comes on super strong in the beginning – too strong – but then when he realizes what is going on with Syliva he immediately dials it back.

“Every time I touch you it’s a gift. Every time I kiss you, I find myself just a little bit more.”

*collapses*

Sorry, that was me swooning to death.

J. Kenner creates characters that engulf me into their lives. I find myself completely invested in their stories and their love and this series is no different. I cannot wait to see what unfolds next. This is the first of a trilogy so there’s a bitty cliffhanger at the end of this one…but all it does is make me itch for more Jackson!! MORE PLEASE.

ABOUT 21 STOLEN KISSES:

When I first met him I resisted.
Like any forbidden love, I told myself he was a crush, and it would pass.
That was a lie. It never faded.

And I never expected he would fall for me just as hard.

There were so many reasons that should have kept us apart, least of all, the decade that separated us.
Growing up in New York City, I learned early on that love is a double-edged sword.
Love broke up my parents, love took away my friends, and love — the big, intense, never-been-like-this-beforelove — landed me in therapy.
Now I’m heading to college, and it’s time to give love a clean slate again. But, can I really start over when he’s still in my life?
Because the one man I’ve always wanted, is also the only guy I absolutely can’t have…
And he wants me just as fiercely.

Can I settle for anything less than the love of my life?

Blurb

Did you want a pat little ending about Jonathan and I riding off into the sunset? Did you want flowers and stars? Man, I wish it was all soft filters and violins. I wish we could fight about who cleaned the bathroom or who was cooking dinner. But I knew I was never destined for simple contentment.
I almost committed murder for him. I almost tore us apart to save him. How do you get back on the horse after that? Because, I promise you, nothing is the same. Nothing.

I’ve earned our happily ever after. Now I have to survive it.

Excerpt

“You know what, Monica, you don’t even know yourself. Look at you. I haven’t seen you this relaxed in months. The only time you let your worry go is when you give me control. And your worry is what keeps you from being honest.”

I swallowed. Blinked. A torrent of wetness welled behind my eyes, “I don’t want to break the scene.”

“Stay still. Stay naked. Speak your mind.”

“I almost died with you a hundred times. That recovery room, they had you in this induced coma and you looked dead. There were bags of blood. Bags, hanging over you and you were all opened up. And, I’m sorry, I haven’t said this because you’re the one who went through it.” I swallowed a gallon of tears. “I don’t want to see you like that again. But I think about it all the time. I dream about it. I see it when I close my eyes. I want you to live, so I do what I think is going to make you happy and I always get it wrong. Stay or go. I give you attention or none. It’s always wrong.”

“What about your happiness?”

“It doesn’t matter. Not as much as yours. It’s not life or death.”

“It is, Monica. It is.”

I shook my head. “You can’t convince me of that. We can do this hurtful honesty thing all day. You’re the priority and I’m okay with that. Deal with it.”

He nodded, looking down for a blink, then up at me. He reached for my wrists.

“These go behind your back.”

I did as instructed.

“Now, get on your knees.”

I bent them. With my hands behind my back, it was hard to balance.

“Do you need some help?” he asked.

“Yes.”

I thought he’d take me gently by the elbow, but dragged me down. He was right. I was relaxed, totally submitting and trusting him, loving every bit of discomfort he dished out.

“Spread your knees apart.”

I did, too slowly for him. He kicked them wide.

“Do you remember your safeword?” He asked, unbuckling his belt.

“Yes.” A tingling rush went down my spine with the promise of his dominance and the way it made me forget how fragile he really was.

His cock was out in the next second. “Open. Your. Mouth.”

About the Author

CD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up, she’s at the well, hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did embed TV story structure in her head well enough for her to take a big risk on a TV series structured erotic series called Songs of Submission. It’s about a kinky billionaire hung up on his ex-wife, an ingenue singer with a wisecracking mouth; art, music and sin in the city of Los Angeles.

Critics have dubbed the books “poetic,” “literary,” and “hauntingly atmospheric,” which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she’s some sort of braggart who’s too good to give the toilets a once-over every couple of weeks or chop a cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Synopsis:

One reckless fighter.

One night of passion she can’t forget.

The battle for sex and love is fierce and unrelenting.

And love is about to knock him on his ass.

Reckless Love can be read as a standalone novel, but is a follow up to the New York Times and USA Today bestseller Hard to Love.

EXCERPT:

“So, it’s true then?”

My breathing stopped. “What’s true?” I asked cautiously.

“That you don’t have sex before a big fight.” Her look was so innocent and hopeful, yet it still took me a second to figure out why she was asking this.

“Yes,” I finally answered. Her cute little frame seemed to relax a little, making me feel—once again—like a total dick. She didn’t know I paid Sara; she was talking about something completely different, about the night we almost hooked up. The night I told her I couldn’t because I had a fight the next day.

She chewed at the inside of her cheek a moment, maybe considering what I’d just said. Shit, that meant she thought I’d just made that up to get rid of her. Not fucking likely. Putting the brakes on that night had been the hardest thing I’d ever done.

“So,” she said as she looked up at me innocently through her eyelashes. “What does that do? For a fighter, I mean.”

I chuckled. “You mean besides frustrate the hell out of us?”

She smiled—thank fucking goodness—then nodded for me to continue.

“You know that stereotype that most guys are boneheaded cave dwellers driven by instinct?”

“Is it considered a stereotype if it’s true?” she said, then giggled.

God, she had a great laugh.

I nodded. “That’s what I was getting at. On some very basic level, we fight in order to survive and procreate.”

She scrunched up her nose, making her look super cute. “But wouldn’t you fight better then? If you have sex, then you have someone to fight for, right?”

Her hand went up to mine, which was still resting on her shoulder. She absentmindedly played with my fingers until she noticed I was watching her, and realized what she’d been doing. She let her hand drop.

I shook my head. “We fight to procreate. Once we’ve had sex, we’ve done the job and have no reason to fight.”

“Hmm.” She nodded. “So I guess now that you aren’t fighting for a while, you’re free to take care of business.” Her gaze drifted down my body.

& don’t miss Hard To Love!

RELEASE DAY Review: Dissident by Cecilia London

Author: Cecilia London

Book: Dissident (Bellator Saga #1) – RELEASES TODAY!

Amazon | B&N | Kobo | iTunes | Smashwords

tl;dr recommendation: intellectual, witty, suspenseful and sexy – i’m loving this political romance!

Book Summary:

She once was important. Now she’s considered dangerous.

In a new America where almost no one can be trusted, Caroline lies unconscious in a government hospital as others decide her fate. She is a political dissident, wanted for questioning by a brutal regime that has come to power in a shockingly easy way. As she recovers from her injuries, all she has are her memories. And once she wakes up, they may not matter anymore.

Part One of a Six Part Series. Each part is a full length novel between 60,000-120,000 words and ends in a cliffhanger. For readers 18+. This saga contains adult situations, including non-gratuitous violence, explicit (consensual) sex, psychological and physical trauma, and an oftentimes dark and gritty plot (particularly in part two).

Longer Review:

This may be Cecilia’s first book/series but it most definitely shouldn’t (and won’t) be her last. I don’t even know what sub-genre to really put this book in, but if I had my way it’d be political dystopian intellectual smut. Sound enticing? IT IS.

I love it when the characters intelligently banter back and forth in a way that leads them from the debate into the bedroom. It’s sort of a weakness of mine and this book hits all of my buttons. #talknerdytome

We start with a scene that we know is happening in the present day – Caroline and Jack are running through the woods to escape…something…or someone. We later find out that the US government has gone to shit – I don’t know why yet – and Caroline and Jack have information that they are trying to get across the border into Canada. All of those ‘I’m moving to Canada’ jokes suddenly seem very possible.

So you’re thinking, oh…a political drama? SORT OF BUT BETTER. Political Drama + Romance + Sex. Yup, I’m in.

So after getting a taste of the present, we’re then thrust (hehe) back into how Jack and Caroline get together and ahhhhh, I love them. This is where the heat starts to rise. There’s so much delicious word porn in this book. YES, WORD PORN. One utterance of the word ‘laconic’ and I was ready. If they started fucking his his library next I was pretty sure my vagina was going to explode.

There’s a ton of romance before there’s a ton of sex and I liked that. We read plenty of books (ok, at least I READ PLENTY OF BOOKS) where the sex comes first, and I like those. I do. But it was nice for Jack to try to have a relationship with Caroline that was built on trust and friendship before he started licking his way down her body. Don’t worry – because that’s in there too.

I would talk about the ending but i’m not sure I can without using all caps. Let’s just say that we know there’s a cliffhanger – I mean, there’s six parts to this story so OBVIOUSLY there’s a cliffhanger. After a few curses, I calmed down. I’ll just have to wait for book 2….LE SIGH.

Mostly, I’m in love with the fact that this book wasn’t dumbed down. It’s unapologetically an intellectual smut novel, which made me all warm in all the right places. There’s suspense, danger, anger, love, and (most importantly) delicious sex. GIVE ME MORE.

About the Author

Cecilia London is my pen name. I am a native Midwesterner who never thought I’d end up in Texas and yet here I am, determined to help Keep San Antonio Lame. I have been known to dabble in the practice of law. I can apply Simpsons quotes to everyday life, and I live for baseball season.  I’ve been writing off and on since I was a kid, but never really thought I’d have any idea that could turn into a single novel, let alone a series. There aren’t many books about how dystopias/totalitarian political regimes come into existence, and I wanted to touch upon that topic while still maintaining a primary focus on the epic romance. Dissident is my first published novel.
