tl;dr recommendation: Hi, let me introduce you to your newest serial novella addiction. You’ll thank me.

Book Summary:

Grayson Ford and Emma Kinglsey–close since they were kids, opposites in every way. He’s the stuff high school crushes are made of, Mister Popular, and captain of every team. She’s artsy, cute, and not in his league, though fully aware of Summerland’s I Dream of  Dating Grayson Ford support group.

I can’t say no. The girl’s had my heart since before I knew it went missing.

He hides a life of hell. His father hates him, his mother’s gone. Emma is his only savior, yet she doesn’t know her power over him. She’s the only girl he wants, the only one he could ever tell–though he won’t.

I’m stronger, bigger, more of a man than he’ll ever be, but because I ruined his life, I’ve taken his crap, his attacks, the vulgar nature of his existence.

Until she discovers Gray’s embarrassment, his humiliation. Emma fights for him, for a chance. Theirs is a Cinderella story that she believes impossible. But as the layers peel back, it’s just a guy who needs a girl in order to keep breathing.

My mind is already doodling Mrs. Grayson Ford in imaginary notebooks. He has no clue where my head is at… But, given that I didn’t see what just happened coming, maybe I have no clue where his head is at either.

EXCERPT

“What are we doing?”
His side touches my side. “I’m memorizing what takes me away. What saves me.”
“You’ve—” My whispering voice cracks, but I don’t care how I sound. I’m toeing the cusp of all I ever wanted.
“We’re done ignoring us.” His hand cups my face, fingers stroking my cheeks down to my chin. When my lips part, his eyes drop to my mouth, focusing on my lips.
I’ve been kissed. Dates. Dares. However they’ve happened, I’ve had a few solid moments of PG-rated hookups. *Nothing* I have *ever* experienced has *anything* on this moment, and Gray’s lips haven’t even touched mine.

REVIEW

This novella is fantastic but it definitely leaves you with a MASSIVE CLIFFHANGER. I’m dying to know what’s next. I’m screaming at Emma not to do what I think she’s going to do, I’m holding out hope that the truth will come out about Grayson. I love these two so much & we’ve only just been introduced. Oh, I’m definitely addicted.

Emma and Grayson’s love story starts out so innocently. Best friends for their entire life, they each secretly harbored feelings for the other, until the day that Grayson decides that he just can’t keep pretending. He fantasizes about Emma in such a pure way that my heart was literally squeezing as he talks about her. He holds her up to such a high standard that he believes himself to be unworthy. Whereas Emma can’t believe that Grayson would ever be interested in her – the best friend. The artsy, outdoorsy, non-cheerleadery, friend. Emma has a little fire in her and is definitely stronger than she appears.

As they come together, you will not be able to stop the feels. This story is explosive, real, heartwarming and pretty freaking hot. I’m already itching for the next in the series & when it arrives I’ll be parking my tissue box next to me…

LIST: Three favorite blow job scenes in honor of my husband’s birthday

Today is really my husband’s birthday, and he loves blow jobs. This is shocking I’m sure, being as how he’s a man.

I actually think I lost two followers on twitter after announcing my intention to blog about cocks and sucking them. but WHATEVER. I love a good blow job scene. I mean, come on – PUN INTENDED. I love these books for the stories, and yes, I also love these books for the sex. SorryNotSorry.

And honestly, I think sometimes the most powerful position that a woman can be in is on her knees. I mean, she is the one in total control at that point.

Anyway, enough waxing poetic. I figured, what better way to honor my lovely husband who bears with me while I read and blog (and then read some more) than to list some of my very favorite blowjob scenes & give a little teaser for each. Yes? YES.

1. Gideon & Eva; Captivated by You by Sylvia Day
     My Review/Reaction found here

Eva swallowed me.

“Fuck,” I hissed, my fingers digging into the armrests as her fingers dug into my hips.

The rush of wet heat over the sensitive crown of my cock was shockingly intense. Hard suction tightened around me and a satin-soft tongue massaged the perfect spot. Through the pounding of my heart, I heard the team questioning whether my webcam and headset were working properly…

Straightening my spine, I slid forward and activated my feeds. “Excuse the delay,” I said briskly as Eva took more of me. “Now that you’ve had the change to review the deck, let’s discuss the steps you’ll be taking to implement the recommended adjustments.”

Eva hummed her approval and the vibration reverberated through me. I was hard enough to drive nails and her slender fingers were teasing me, stroking with just enough pressure to make me want more.

2. Alec & Anna; The Masseuse by Sierra Kincade
My review found here

“So hard,” I murmured, running my fingertips down his length. “I want to taste it. I’ve fantasized about you like this.”

I liked him from stem to tip, one long pull with the back of my tongue.

He stared down at me, lust in his eyes, and I knew I had him.

I wrapped my fingers around the base of his shaft, giving him a hard squeeze before massaging his balls in my other hand. There wasn’t enough time to make this last like I wanted, but that didn’t mean I wouldn’t give him every ounce of pleasure I could.

With the tip of my tongue, I swirled around the head, tasting the slippery, musky liquid. The response it evoked was instantaneous. My eyes drifted closed. My stomach tightened. The plane hit a bump, and for a split second it felt as if we were cresting the top of a roller coaster. His breath caught, and I pulled him into my mouth, nestled the smooth head of his penis over the back of my tongue, and sucked.

“Jesus fuck,” he muttered.

3. Colton & Rylee; Driven by K. Bromberg
    My review found here

I look up at him as I sink to my knees and very slowly undo the last three buttons of his jeans.

He stares at me beneath eyelids heavy with desire, his lips parted, and need palpable. I lower his jeans and boxer briefs, his iron length springing free. I run my fingers down the dark smattering of hair and grip the base of his shaft. I lean forward and Colton sucks in an audible breath as I circle my tongue lightly around the bell-shaped tip and then flutter it slowly down to the root and back up. My hand moves slowly up and down the veined length while my other hand comes up to cup his balls beneath, gently grazing them with my fingernails.

I look up at Colton and I’m swallowed up by the look in his eyes as he watches me. His jaw flexes in expectancy as my fingers tease him, and when I take him very slowly into my mouth, he winces in pleasure before throwing his head back and hissing “Fuccckk, Ryleeee!”

I tease him gently at first, only taking the tip of him into the warmth of my mouth, rubbing my tongue with pressure on the sensitive underside just beneath the rim of his crest. I twist my hand around his shaft, stimulating him with friction and wet heat.

When I’ve tormented him enough and can feel the tension in his thighs from anticipation, I sheath my teeth with my lips and take him all the way in until I can feel him hit the back of my throat. The guttural groan that comes from Colton’s lips fills the room as the musky taste of his arousal and evidence of his desire for me churns an exquisite ache that invades the depths of my very core.

Are we all worked up now? I would think so. Now I suppose I should go put these skills I’ve learned to use…hmmm…..

I squealed as Brack flipped us over dislodging my hands. He was hard again. Or maybe his erection never left. I sat back on his thighs and admired his cock. Placing my fingers around the head, I squeezed gently.

“Harder,” he said with lust in his voice.

“Mmm, I want to suck.”

“What’s stopping you?” he asked gruffly.

I gripped harder like he asked. “I want you shooting off in my pussy this time.”

He closed his eyes for a moment. “Suck me first and that can be arranged.”

I didn’t care that I was a sticky mess. I wiggled off him until my knees hit the floor. He moved down a bit so I could comfortably reach him with my mouth. He propped himself on his arms and watched. I stuck my tongue out and licked just the tip. I didn’t always like the taste of men but Brack was yummy. When I’d sucked his cum from my fingers, I’d wanted to go back for seconds. I flicked my tongue against him watching his reaction. It wasn’t much. I knew he liked it hard. I wrapped my lips around the head and sucked a little as I circled his balls with one hand and his cock with the other.

Saliva pooled in my mouth as I took him deeper. At the same time, I put additional pressure around his cock. My lips met my fingers and I sucked while bobbing my head. His groan had me tightening my fingers even harder.

“I want to grab your hair but I’m afraid I’ll hurt your head,” he moaned out on a ragged breath.

His cock slipped from my mouth as I looked up. He stared at the stream of saliva between his dick and my lips. I smiled. “I’m fine, do what feels good.”

His eyes met mine as he placed his fingers in my hair and pushed my mouth to his cock again. I opened wide and took him deeper.

“Fuck me you’re good at this.”

I didn’t take it the wrong way—I was good at this. The second lover in my life, an Australian tennis pro, spent a lot of time teaching me fellatio. He wasn’t into returning the favor frequently and I finally kicked him to the sideline. He came out of the closet a year ago and it all made sense. But who better to teach about blowjobs than a gay man? I didn’t feel comfortable enough to practice my skills with most of the men I slept with. Brack was different. I wanted his cock. And like most things in my life, I took what I wanted.

Holly S. Roberts is the USA Today Best-Selling Author of “Play” the first book in the completion series. She lives high in the Arizona Mountains with the love of her life and her anxiety ridden Rottweiler, Dizzy. To write, she needs caffeine on her desk and music playing in the background. Hard rock and mellow instrumentals fill her office in equal accord. Oh and she loves to read, and read, and read.
HOSTED BY:

tl;dr recommendation: Three Point Seven Five Stars: Brack’s smoldering eyes are the #1 reason to read this book.

Longer Review:

Overall this is a fun sports read with a bit of suspense. Yes, Olivia was fairly obnoxious when she was being overly stubborn or a crazed nymphomaniac, but for the most part I enjoyed her. She was pretty funny at times, and I liked when she finally started to focus on what was important. What I really enjoyed though was Brack. YES PLEASE. His smoldering eyes, strength & no-brokering attitude was fantastic. He makes this book worth reading. I especially loved the self defense training sessions!!

However, I have to say, I didn’t enjoy the ending.  And I doubt I’m the only one, so I’m pretty sure for that reason alone this book’s reviews are going to oscillate wildly. I won’t give you any spoilers, but I was left with a bad taste in my mouth because 1) it felt so super rushed; 2) she’s a fucking idiot. She lies about something rather important to trick Brack into doing something he may or may not have done otherwise; and 3) she ignores Brack for weeks before she decides its the right time to “fix everything.” Did not love.

I gave this book 3.75 stars because I really enjoyed the majority of this story!! ALSO, DO NOT WORRY, I’m not dissuaded from this series or author – I definitely enjoyed the suspense & connection between Olivia & Brack here and I will definitely read another from this series, especially if there are more men like Brack…. 😉

Beauty from Pain Excerpt
Jack McLachlan’s POV
I sit in the dark corner and scan the room like a starved predator searching for prey. I haven’t chosen her yet, but the woman who will share my bed for the next few months is in this room right now. I watch a lovely blond approach my table. “What can I bring you?” Hmm. A waitress—not at all my usual taste.
I have a type. Attractive. Mature. Refined. This barmaid meets the attractive requirement well enough, but she’s void of refinement or maturity as displayed by her choice of apparel—a white, barely there tank top and frazzled cutoff denim shorts. She doesn’t do it for me. Plus, my last two companions were blond. I want a different flavor this time, but no redheads. I want a brunette. A beautiful one.
I remind myself I’m not in Sydney where I have an endless variety of sophisticated women from which to choose. My choices are more limited in the small town of Wagga Wagga, but that doesn’t mean I have to settle for the first attractive woman I see.
“I’ll have a Shiraz.”
I’m prepared for a more prolonged relationship this time—three whole months instead of the usual three or four weeks. I’m looking forward to keeping this one around a little longer, and that’s all the more reason to be certain I make a wise choice. I begin my search of the club with the first table toward the front of the room. A
brunette beauty sits with a group of women. I watch her for a while, but decide she’s too friendly with the woman sitting next to her. Lesbians aren’t in my repertoire.
I spend the next hour scanning the club and come up empty-handed. I’m discouraged. No one stands out as the one and this club is by far my best bet for meeting single women in this town. Maybe I should consider coming back another time when it’s not open mic night. Tonight, the place is crawling with boozed college students.
Tonight’s search has been a failure, but at least the karaoke was entertaining.
I’m finishing off the last of my wine before I leave when an announcer from the club takes the stage and asks for the next singer to step forward. A small group of people across the room nominates one of its own. My view of the poor bastard is blocked by the crowd of intoxicated kids standing between us, but I’m certain this is going to be another delightful train wreck.
The club erupts into cheer and chants. “Do. It. Do. It. Do. It.” A young woman walks onto the stage and stands with her back to the crowd as she lifts a guitar from its stand. She lifts its strap over her head and then tosses her long brown hair over one shoulder. When she’s finished settling the guitar into place, she circles around and sits on the stool in the middle of the stage.
She’s beautiful. And somehow overlooked during my search. She’s wearing a short ivory dress and a denim jacket with brown cowgirl boots. She bares her thighs as she lifts her feet to rest on the bottom rail, but she’s
careful to push her dress between her legs so she doesn’t provide a peep show to the crowd. She strums the borrowed guitar a few times and then leans into the microphone. “Is everyone having a good time tonight?”
She’s American. I think. Her accent sounds different—not like what I’ve heard in the past.
The crowd erupts into a drunken cheer and I hear a man’s voice yell over the crowd, “It’s better now, sweet thing!”
She smiles and adjusts the mic. “I’m not from around here. It’s my first night in Australia.”
“Leave with me and I’ll make you feel right at home!” a man shouts from the back of the room.
She ignores the fat, ugly bastard yelling at her. “I don’t know what kind of music Australians like, but this has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember.” She strums a few more chords. “This is ‘Crash Into Me’ by the Dave Matthews Band.”
She sings it slower than the original, putting her own twist on it. Her voice is raspy and sexy, her eyes closed. She oozes eroticism. She tilts her head and opens her eyes when she begins to sing the chorus. I swear it feels like she’s looking right in my direction, singing to me. “Oh, and you come craasshh … into me. And I come into … you … And I come into you … in a boy’s dream … in a boy’s dream.”
The stage lights shine in her face and common sense tells me she can’t see me sitting in the dark corner at the back of the club, but that doesn’t stop me from hoping.
She finishes the chorus and shuts her eyes again. Her long legs bounce against the rail of the stool to keep rhythm and I fall victim to her siren’s song. She has bewitched me. And I want her. She’s the one.
Georgia resides in rural Mississippi with her wonderful
husband, Jeff, and their two beautiful daughters. She spent fourteen years as a
labor and delivery nurse before she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an
author and hasn’t looked back yet.
When she’s not writing, she’s thinking about writing. When
she’s being domestic, she’s listening to her iPod and visualizing scenes for
her current work in progress. Every story coming from her always has a song to
inspire it.

RELEASE DAY & Review: Billionaire Bargain – PART 2

billionaire bargain2

Author:   Lila Monroe

Book: Billionaire Bargain: Part 2

Other Books in Series:
Billionaire Bargain: Part 1
Billionaire Bargain: Part 3 – coming soon on February 12, 2015

tl;dr recommendation: This series is addictive. MORE, PLEASE.

Book Summary:

It was a deal made in the boardroom and sealed in the bedroom.

It all seems so simple: pretend to be his fianceé, his company share prices stabilize, and everyone wins. It’s all just for show.

So why does he keep kissing me? And why do I let him? Grant Devlin is the bane of my existence — not the man of my dreams. But now the lines are getting blurred, and between the kissing and the champagne (and did I mention the kissing?) I’m getting way too comfortable as the future Mrs Devlin.

Something’s got to give, and it better not be my self-control…

Longer Review:

This is the second in Lila Monroe’s Billionaire Bargain series and it is fantastic. Review for Part 1 can be found here.

This series is an addiction. Even though i have yet to come down from the post-Grant high, I am already in need of more.

Lila Monroe is the Queen of The Cliff and the ending here is KILLING ME (in a good way, obvi). Book 2 gave me even more than what I was hoping for and I can only anticipate what’s to come. Lacey continues to be awesome, but Grant has now transformed into an adorably vulnerable and respectable man. Well, except in certain situations where it’s way more appropriate for him to transform into something resembling a lion hunting his prey. And I more than welcome those changes. Can’t have him acting like someone he’s not 😉

Lacey’s fierce personality keeps Grant (and the company) on his toes. I love that when there’s a crisis she manages to pull her shit together instead of falling apart in a fit of anxiety and fog. She’s smart, witty & exactly what you want in a female MC. Of course, the end of Book 2 has me now questioning her sanity. DON’T DO THIS LACEY!

I’m wrapped up in this series & don’t want to stop. But I have to. Because Book 3 isn’t yet released. LE SIGH. I will now patiently wait for Book 3 with puppy-dog eyes.

(I received an ARC of this book from the author – and I CANNOT THANK HER ENOUGH)

Cover Reveal & Excerpt: Sidelined by Emma Hart

RELEASE DAY: MARCH 2, 2015

SIDELINED EMMA HART AMAZON KINDLE EBOOK COVER (1)

Three people. Three motives. Three reasons.

When the game leaves the field in the second book in the USA Today bestselling BY HIS GAME series and mixes with sex, lies, and betrayal, the future isn’t the only thing on the line…

Macey Kelly has sworn off men. Unless they’re going to zip in and out of her apartment—and her vagina—quicker than they can give her an orgasm, she’s not interested. Finding out her boyfriend of three years got her cousin pregnant was a total confidence knock. Luckily for Macey, confidence is

something she has in abundance, so all Mitch’s asshole move did was make her pretty cynical toward men.

The last thing Jack Carr needs at the start of the season is for a dark-haired, sexy as sin, gyspyesque beauty to be consuming his thoughts. Football is his life, which leaves no time for girls. Unless they’re the love ‘em and leave ‘em girls. Becoming one of the best running backs the league has ever seen by racking up the yards is his top priority… not bedding Macey Kelly, despite her affinity for blow jobs and total sexual abandon.

Avoiding each other is the perfect solution, but when your best friends are in a serious living together kind of relationship, that isn’t always an option. Sometimes, sex on tap is the easiest option. And the sweetest.

Until Mitch shows up with a bombshell that could shatter Macey’s perfectly carved out life. It’s been a year, but he isn’t giving her up, not now he has a chance at winning her back. And he knows her buttons. Every single one of them.

Unfortunately for him, Jack Carr isn’t a loser. The star running back has his eye on the Vince Lombardi—and on Macey. But seeing her hanging between them both isn’t something he’s down with, not when he discovers why she’s so against anything more-ish, as she puts it.Macey quickly realizes she’s the ball being passed between two desperate yet opposing teams, and that only one of them can score the touchdown. But will the winner be the guy she lived with and loved for three years, or will the winner be the guy who understands her and makes her body come alive?

In this game, someone will be sidelined, and calling the play isn’t always as easy as it seems.

(SIDELINED is a full-length, standalone novel. It’s not necessary to read BLINDSIDED before this book, but it is advised.)

EXCERPT

“Put the drink down, M,” he whispers. “It’s fucking with you.”

“Really? I thought that was you fucking with me,” I respond, turning to him and pressing a hand against his chest. “What the hell are you doing here?”

Like, right here. Literally.

“It’s my best friend’s birthday.” He smirks. “Why’ve you been staring at me all night like you wanna suck and bite my cock simultaneously?”

“I assure you it was the latter.”

“Sure it was.” Jack steps into me again, and I grab my glass with the hand closest to him so I don’t grab his ass or something, ‘cause, shit. He’s got a sweet as hell ass.

“It was.” I drink. Again. Where the hell are my girls? “I feel like dancing.” I finish the glass and twist my body away from his.

His hand finally falls from me as I stalk toward and down the stairs. I slip into the moving crowd, but I’ve barely moved my hips when two large, strong hands clasp me and tug me backward. The wall of muscle my back slams into is solid, and I exhale on a whoosh, even as I close my fingers against the ones clasping my hips.

“Nice try, baby,” Jack says into my ear. “Run if you want. I’m a running back. I’ll chase you and catch you every fuckin’ time.”

“Sounds like a promise you can’t keep, doll,” I reply, my breath catching when he moves my hips against his.

“Sounds like a promise you’re afraid of.”

I laugh and shove his hands away from me. I turn to face him. Even in the darkness, his eyes blaze bright green, so fucking bright they’re close to blinding me every time the strobe lighting coasts across his face. And, shit, it does it so many times, and every time, it illuminates every line and curve of his perfectly sculpted jaw.

“You wish, Jack Carr. You fucking wish.”

His hands snatch mine and he pulls me through the crowd. I fight his hold, but his grip is too tight.

My heart pounds as he drags me through the hall with certainty, and in two minutes, I find myself pressed against his goddamn car in the parking lot.

“What the fuck?” I shout, shoving at him.

He grabs my hands once more and pins them over my head, effectively bending me backward on the hood of his SUV. “What the fuck?” he replies, leaning into me, his voice low. “Is that hard or soft, quick or slow, deep or shallow? ‘Cause baby, I can fuck you all six of those ways in one go.”

“None of them,” I snap. “What the fuck, as in, what the fuck, asshole?”

“Oh, that what the fuck.” He bends forward a little more. Until his mouth is against my ear and his hard body is pressed right up against mine. “Maybe it’s the what the fuck I felt when I felt your eyes on me all night. Maybe it’s the what the fuck I felt when you looked at me like you wanted to fuck me one minute, then the next, slice my balls in two. Maybe it’s the what the fuck you’ve got in your eyes while you let me lie my body over yours in a motherfucking parking lot seconds after I ask you how you want to be fucked tonight.”

“I don’t want to be fucked,” I reply, doing my best to slam my hands into his hood. I fail—shit, he’s so fucking strong I can’t even twist my hands in his grip.

“Baby, your body says otherwise.”

“My body is an impulsive fuckwit.”

“Your body knows me.”

“Again, my body is an impulsive fuckwit.”

“You never did say.” He breathes against my jaw and brushes his lips against my skin. “How do you want to be fucked?”

He tilts his face into my neck and kisses. Oh, hell, he kisses my neck, right beneath my jaw, where my chin meets my neck, and I pause. I inhale sharply.

“Get in the goddamn car,” he orders, releasing me.

“Excuse me?” I push up and stare at him.

“Get in the goddamn car,” he repeats, pulling open his door and staring me. “Or have I gotta throw you into it?”

“I am not getting into your car!”

He slams his door shuts and rounds on me. I step backward, but he’s too quick, and he wraps an arm around my waist. My body slams into his yet again as he opens the passenger side door of his SUV and throws me into it.

“Get. In. The. Goddamn. Car.”

“This is kidnap!”

He slams my door, and I both see and hear him laughing as he walks to the driver’s side. “Sure it is, baby. I’m startin’ the engine now, so you got ten seconds to get the hell out before I drive. One…two…”

From Emma Hart, the New York Times bestselling author of the
Game series, comes a brand new series where the game is realer, the tension is
tighter, the sex is hotter, and the stakes are the highest of all…
Two people. Two agendas. Two games.
What happens when the out-there It-Boy of football meets the
secret It-Girl of fashion?
As the daughter of Hollywood’s sweetheart, Leah Veronica
can’t even buy a coffee without finding her face on a magazine stand, so it’s no
wonder she’s launching her first fashion line in secret. With it debuting at
New York Fashion Week in just under a month, extra time in the spotlight is the
last thing she needs.
The son of the best quarterback the league has ever seen,
filling legendary shoes as the L.A. Vipers’ quarterback was inevitable for
Corey Jackson. So was meeting Leah Veronica—the first girl to hand him his ass
without putting a hair out of place.
Getting the handsome, prickly blonde into his bed becomes
his number one goal. But getting the sexy, over-confident footballer the hell
away from her becomes Leah’s—at least until she realizes the best way to do
that is to give him what he wants.
If only it was that simple.
When Corey discovers who she is, and private photos of
Hollywood’s finest find their way online, everything they thought they knew is
thrown into disarray.
And when secrets are exposed and hearts are shattered, they
have to figure out if they’ve been blindsided by love or reality, and if it’s
worth running the extra yard to win the game they never meant to play.

Review: Stealing Rose

Author:  Monica Murphy

Book: Stealing Rose (Fowler Sisters #2) – BUY NOW!!

Series: Fowler Sisters

Other Books in Series:
Owning Violet (Fowler Sisters #1)
Taming Lily (Fowler Sisters #3) – releasing on July 7, 2015

tl;dr recommendation: a strong woman combined with a sexy aloof man, secrets & high society? YES PLEASE.

Summary:

People say the youngest child has it easy, but nothing can be further from the truth. Unlike my two sisters, Violet and Lily, I’m never in the limelight. I just work my butt off for Fleur Cosmetics and get little to no thanks for it. I’ve been pushed too far one too many times, and I’m finally brave enough to do something about it.

Maybe my newfound courage has something to do with the amazing pink and white diamond necklace I wear to the party in Cannes. The instant those dazzling heirloom jewels touch my skin, they excite some deep, aching need inside. And when that guy—that totally gorgeous guy—locks eyes with me, I know this nice girl is going to be naughty.

For once it’s my turn. My turn to say no to my father, to outshine my sisters, to walk away from it all—straight into the arms of a mysterious stranger. But what if Caden is much more than I bargained for? Sure, he makes me feel sexy and free in a way I never have before, but there’s something else I can’t quite place—something dangerous. Maybe our “chance” meeting wasn’t so random. Maybe he was looking for me for a reason. Whatever his motive, there’s no going back now.

And maybe I don’t want to.

Longer Review:

While part of a series, this is a standalone novel.

Rose Fowler is at a crossroads in her life. She’s the baby of the family who no one takes seriously and she hates her father’s girlfriend, Pilar, who is slowly trying to take over the family make-up business, Fleur. While she desperately wants to quit her job, she doesn’t know what else she would possibly do – and she’s equally desperate to make a name all of her own, outside of her sisters’ shadows. While at an after party in Cannes, France she meets Caden and suddenly all of those thoughts fall away, and are replaced by ones featuring Caden’s mouth & hands. I don’t blame the girl, Caden sounds fucking hot.

Caden used to be a trust fund baby until his father ruined everything, leaving him and his mother with nothing. Now Caden steals from the rich to fund his lifestyle. Initially that piece of him totally turned me off. BUT THEN I STARTED TO GET TO KNOW HIM. Thief with a heart of gold? Yup. I begrudgingly began to love Caden & my inner cheerleader started rooting for him and Rose.

I don’t know if you’ll have this experience, but Stealing Rose started out a little slow for me. It’s probably because I wasn’t familiar with the characters (I have yet to read Owning Violet – THIS WILL BE REMEDIED). For whatever reason though, after a few chapters it picked up & I was hooked. I was glaring-at-my-husband-who-suggested-I-put-it-down-to-hang-out-with-people hooked.

Monica Murphy spins a fabulous tale filled with secrets, half-truths and lots of delicious sex. Caden & Rose can barely keep their hands to themselves, and I don’t want them too. However, even while the clothes peel off, their mental walls are a bit harder to come down & Caden’s heart stays safely tucked away behind lock and key. My initial wariness of Caden was quickly replaced with the desire to see him battle his demons and let Rose in. I loved Rose’s fiesty gives-no-fucks attitude and her willingness to just go with the flow. But mostly, I really enjoyed watching them slowly let down their guard and fall in love. ahhh, it’s a great read!
