Author: Molly O’Keefe

Book: The Truth About Him (Everything I Left Unsaid #2)

Other book in series:

Everything I left Unsaid (Everything I Left Unsaid #1)

tl;dr recommendation: a little bit dark laced with a lot of bit dangerous, but it’s sexy as fuck and deliriously engaging. I loved it. 5 stars!

Book Summary:

We played our roles, told each other lies.

But now Dylan is no longer just a mysterious deep voice on the other end of the line. We’re face-to-face and our relationship is very, very real.

We still have secrets—but so much is crystal clear:

The thrilling danger.

The raw, naked desire.

The need to keep feeling the way he makes me feel. Forever.

Dylan is putting up walls, trying to keep me safe, but he can’t shut me out. He has seen my darkness and rescued me. Now it’s my turn, if only he will let me.

Longer Review:

I was actually bouncing up and down dying a little bit to read this book. The way that book 1 ended killed a little piece of my soul and I was so excited to dive back into this series. And it did not disappoint.

I was completely drawn to Dylan’s emotionally stunted soul the same way that Annie was. It’s evident that he has such a clear, good, warm heart that has never received the caressing it deserves. Annie has lost herself so many times over that she’s finally coming full circle, finding herself again – and she’s convinced that she can take Dylan on her journey.

The fact that practically the entire story happens in a trailer park is so utterly perfect and different. While Dylan has money, he doesn’t use it as a weapon, and he certainly doesn’t use it to smother Annie. She’s doing this thing between them the best that she can, he free spirit and steely determination leading the way.

Of course there’s more danger in this book, some pretty tenuous moments, and terrifying ordeals, but there’s also a sense of community amongst the characters. They’re completely imperfect, and often times illogical, but they make a world of seeming poverty rich with human connection.

There’s also a lot of great, wonderful, scorching, searing, screaming, toe-curling sex. These two have an inability to keep their hands off each other, even when they think they should, and I was totally ok with that. Go forth and fuck Dylan and Annie, I’ll be right here.

Dylan and Annie compliment each other in a way that not many Hero’s and heroines do – even in the most brutal moments they understand each other and have each other’s backs. This story is a little bit dark laced with a lot of bit dangerous, but it’s sexy as fuck and deliriously engaging. I loved it. 5 stars!
